Rajan Ishan

A singer, arranger, composer and moreover a great human being, Rajan Ishan is the Hot Property for the month of Poush (2072 B.S.) on Radio Kantipur. His indulgence in Nepali music has spanned over two decades now. However, it might come as a surprise to many that music was not what he fancied at first.

Born on Asoj 13, 2033 B.S, Rajan Ishan holds a black belt in Karate. His love for music took pace starting from 2047 B.S. It was the release of one of the massive hits till date, Basma chaina mero mann that really got him into the limelight and after almost seventeen years, Ishan is back again with his newest song Ajhai Yaad Chha. This song is the first one that he has released from his latest album which he has been currently working on and you can listen to this song exclusively on Radio Kantipur throughout this month.

His versatility in music should be much credited to the kind of music he grew up listening to. His list of artists included Mohammad Rafi, Manna de, Kishore Kumar, Mehendi Hasan, The Scorpions, MLTR, Brian Adams and more. His affinity to all the Indian singers should have something to do with him finishing his schooling from Central Academy Siddhartha Institute, Ranchi, India.

Rajan’s work ethics is second to none and probably that is why he is what he is now. He started working as an assistant in Alpha Digital Studio and moved on to working in Opus and Royaltone studio. After gaining much experience he started working as a freelancer.

Rajan has won over so many hearts with his work. Dating back from the days of Rohini vol.I (2054 BS), Ishan (2059 BS), Nishad (band- 2055 BS), Chham Chham, Namuna, Priyatama, Pahilo maya, Kahile aago, Mann ko rani,  to the very latest Ajhai Yaad Chha, Ishan continues to stack up quality music for all Nepali music lovers. No wonder, he has received many awards and accolades for his work throughout his career.

Ishan is never shy from the limelight but that is not the drive behind his work. He derives motivation for his work from his will to do his work to the best of his ability. Perhaps that is why we see him collaborating with so many other artists yet take a very little credit for his work. Such a humble character is Rajan Ishan. Get to know more of him throughout this month only on Radio Kantipur.
